2009 marks the 20th anniversary of the Assisi community! We have much to be grateful for as we celebrate Michael Conforti's vision of convening leading thinkers in conversation about the confluence of psyche and matter. Today, the Assisi Institute is recognized as an international focal point for these groundbreaking discussions and an innovative center for the study and practice of the field of Archetypal Pattern Analysis.
In this time of myriad global challenges, an awareness of the role of archetypal influences in both individual and collective life is assuming ever greater importance. The work of Dr. Conforti and the Assisi community in advancing our understanding of these transpersonal forces and of the eternal patterns underlying natural and social systems continues to make a uniquely significant contribution to addressing these critical issues.
To help broaden the reach of this important work, and to set the stage for our continued growth as a vital educational center, we have launched several exciting initiatives. Highlights include:
Archetypes in the Classroom
A new curriculum designed to engage students in exploring universal human experiences through myth and archetypal story. This pilot program will illustrate the many ways archetypes infuse and enrich the life process.
Journal and Web Media
The Assisi Journal will showcase the groundbreaking work of our community, and our new web site will offer informative on-line seminars, archival recordings of past conferences, and monthly newsletters.
Student Scholarships
To introduce college students to the field of Archetypal Pattern Analysis, we are establishing a fund to award annual scholarships for study at the Assisi Institute.
Documentary Project
Production of a documentary on the development and evolution of Michael Conforti's work.
Over the past twenty years we have been blessed with the generosity of a wonderful community, who has shared our love for our work and our commitment to the Assisi vision. We thank you for all you have contributed to the success of our efforts, and as we embark on our third decade, we look forward to your continued support of this extraordinary venture. If you would like further information about any of our programs, or know of likeminded individuals or organizations that may be interested in supporting our work, I would be delighted to speak with you.
I also hope that you will be able to join us this year, either here in Brattleboro or in Assisi, Italy, to help us celebrate our important milestone, and to honor Michael for all he has given us.
With deep appreciation and warm wishes,
